Heart Jar Decorations

My next Valentine's Day DIY is adorable heart jar decorations! These jars and bottles are great to decorate your house or desk with, or to fill with candies and goodies to give as a gift.
What you'll need:
 - Glass bottles, wine bottles, spaghetti sauce jars, salsa jars, anything you can spray paint
 - Heart stickers
 - Ribbon, string, or twine
 - Spray paint
 - Hot glue gun
 - Flowers or candy to put inside the bottles

Here are the steps!
1. Take all the labels off of the bottles that you are using. Sometimes they can come off with just hot water and soap, but in some cases you'll need Goo Gone to help you out.
2. Put your heart stickers on the bottles however you would like. Make sure to stick the stickers on well to make sure no paint will get under the stickers in the next step.

3. Spray paint the bottle with the color you choose. Spray paint in multiple layers over a period of time. If you spray too much at one time, the paint will drip. To avoid that, spray in multiple layers.
4. Give the paint a night to fully dry. Then, peel off all the stickers. If there is a little paint that got underneath of the stickers, you can use an x-acto blade to gently scrape off the extra paint you don't want.
5. Now you can decorate the top of the jar! For my jar, I wrapped twine around the top. I glued it using a hot glue gun. Very simple! You can also tie a bow using ribbon, wrap yarn or embroidery thread around it, or leave it plain with the color of the spray paint.

And that is all! Such a simple project to help you get ready for the holiday. Check out the other painted Valentine's Day jars that I found on Pinterest below. They are other great ways to approach the project! Have fun & enjoy!
